Electrical Controls Engineer designs, develops, and supervises all aspects of electrical control systems, equipment, and machinery. May be responsible for the installation and technical support of PLC based hardware and software. Being an Electrical Controls Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Electrical Controls Engineer relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Main position objectives- Requires a thorough knowledge of Engineering and Manufacturing practices and methodologies.
- Must have an in-depth understanding of 3-phase motor controls, Allen Bradley, Siemens PLC’s, programming and HMI screen design, and related products.
- Must be able to read & understand motor control ladder logic drawings. VFD, Servo, pneumatic and hydraulic control design ability is a must, along with valve control, relays, timers and related control equipment.
- MS Office experience is a plus. MS Excel experience is a must.
- Ability to work effectively with networking, and internet devices is a plus.
- Bachelor’s or Associates Degree in Electrical Engineering / Technology, or a related field of education, or relevant experience is required.
- Some travel to customer’s facility to assist in startups should be expected at times.
