Mechanical Designer Job Description
Job Duties:
· Develop mechanical 2D drawings, 3D models, and documentation packages for construction of industrial equipment and processing facilities.
· Develop necessary sketches, details, elevations, and sections for construction documents.
· Develop mechanical equipment and piping deliverables such as isometrics with bill of materials and sheet metal layout and fabrication drawings.
· Provide drafting and design support in close coordination with Electrical and Mechanical Services throughout entire design build process of a project.
· Perform and or support in mechanical engineering and design calculations and studies.
· Develop and or modify specifications, calculations, and drawings in compliance with applicable codes and standards.
· Assist in the development of cost estimates, change orders, material takeoffs, resource utilization and forecasting reports.
· Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of work performed within the engineering and design department.
· Coordinate with customers, vendors, distributors, and contractors as required in the execution of engineering and design duties.
· Provide construction support such as as-builting, field observations, and field modifications.
Qualifications and Skills:
· Minimum of 3 years mechanical piping and equipment design experience in Food & Beverage, Oil & Gas, or other industrial sectors.
· Must be proficient with 3D design software, including AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Inventor.
· Must have experience with the development of fabrication and construction packages.
· Must be knowledgeable in Microsoft Office programs.
Travel Requirements:
· Most work to be conducted from one of JTI’s California offices. Some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected
