Overview

The Electrical Engineer leads the design and evaluation of electro-mechanical products and systems by developing conceptual layouts, product specifications, electrical drawings and working with manufacturing personnel to develop appropriate manufacturing methods.  S/he develops, sets up and conducts laboratory tests to determine performance of components and systems versus specifications.  She/he also assists the production team on manufacturing tasks as needed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop/maintain electrical drawings, schematics and documentation using CADD (Solidworks and AutoCad)
• Create/modify bills of materials (BOM) for associated electrical drawings
• Stay abreast of latest sensor/control technology and integrate in control systems designs as appropriate 
• Develop new/modify existing PLC code for complex building maintenance units (BMU’s)
• Perform testing on new and existing control systems and manufactured product
• Develop test protocols for electronic products
• Coordinate UL, CSA product submission, testing and certification
• Troubleshoot control system operations for new and existing equipment
• If needed, perform wiring and assembly of electrical components for control systems of capital equipment

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in electrical/electronics engineering, electrical/electronics design or similar
• Proficiency with Solidworks or AutoCad and Microsoft Office Suite
• PLC integration and programming (ladder logic design)
• Knowledge of:
• Sensor technology (prox, limit, non-contact, etc.)
• Contactor/relay technology
• 3 phase/single phase design
• wireless technology
• Electrical assembly (panel building)
• Motor electrical design
• UL project coordination
• Electrical/control system troubleshooting
• Organizational skills
• Excellent communications skills (verbal and written)
• Work as an individual contributor and as a team member
