The potential candidate (designer) will be working on Electric Schematics and Construction related projects within client s Transmission Engineering group. However, most of the interaction will be with the CAD design lead and engineers.

The designer will assist in preparation of engineering plan sets, designs, and specifications for construction drawing packages. Experience with CAD drafting such as one-lines, wiring schematics, mechanical detailing, site plans or plan and profile views of electrical equipment and transmission lines is a requirement.

The designer needs to have working knowledge of basic CAD standards and drawing requirements, and principles, to ensure compliance with utility requirements, department standards, and jurisdictional codes.

Drafting is completed by designer utilizing Bentley Microstation. The potential candidate should be well-rounded, have a good attitude, great communication skills, timely, professional, works well in a team environment, works well independently but willing to ask for help when required, willing to learn, and is teachable.

Reporting Location: 50% Remote/WFH, 50% Site and/or office visits in the Puget Sound Region

Essential Functions & Responsibilities:

• To Perform Computer Aided Drafting and Design for Multiple Engineers.
• Create, edit and design electrical, structural, and/or control drawings to meet specifications utilizing AutoCAD.
• Assist Engineer with plans & specifications development, and drafting of drawing packages for utility power delivery project.
• Knowledge of electrical single-line and three-line diagrams, AC/DC wiring systems, and schematics.
• Experience with electric substation design, electric control design, or electric power design 5kV-500kV volts.
• Experience with developing site plans and electrical standards.
• Coordinate with engineers to incorporate concepts and information into drawing packages.
• Design or modify engineering schematics for electrical transmission and distribution systems or electrical installation in residential, commercial, or industrial buildings, using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and MicroStation.
• 2 Years of relevant experience.
• Two-year technical degree or equivalent technical certificate in design or pre-engineering.
• Previous utility experience preferred.

Education & Experience

• Associate degree in Computer-Aided Drafting or 3 years of related work experience in computer-aided drafting or design field
• Associate degree preferred, but not required from an accredited two-year college or technical school in Electrical Engineering, Computer-Aided Architectural Drafting, and Design
• Construction or utility experience preferred

Pre-Screen

License & Certifications:

• Driver's License Required.
