Position Overview
The Electrical Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the electrical maintenance operations within the facility, ensuring compliance with safety standards and efficiency in electrical systems management. This role involves managing a team of electricians, coordinating repairs and installations, and ensuring adherence to electrical codes and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and manage the electrical maintenance team to ensure efficient operations.
- Plan and execute electrical repairs, installations, and maintenance of facility electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with National and State electrical codes during all electrical work.
- Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems to identify and resolve issues proactively.
- Manage project timelines and budgets for electrical maintenance and repair projects.
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized electrical services and repairs.
- Oversee the procurement of electrical supplies and manage inventory effectively.
- Implement and conduct training programs for staff on electrical safety and maintenance best practices.
- Prepare and maintain capital budgets for electrical projects and maintenance activities.
- Lead safety meetings and ensure adherence to safety protocols within the maintenance team.
Qualifications
- Degree from a 4-year college or electrical training institution in electrical systems or electronics, or 5 years of recent maintenance or plant operations experience (ideally food processing)
- 2 years in a supervisor or management role
- Strong knowledge of Electrical Theory, Motors, Transformers, and Lighting systems.
- Experience in project management and change management within a maintenance environment.
- Proficiency in planning and prioritization of electrical maintenance tasks.
- Familiarity with Food Processing industry standards and electrical systems.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with team members and vendors.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience with budgeting and capital preparation related to electrical projects.
- Understanding of procurement processes and inventory management.
