Hood Industries, Inc is seeking an Electronic Technician for our Beaumont, Mississippi plywood facility. This is a greenfield site that will employ up to 250 employees. This position will perform a variety of functions that include primarily Green End lathe support and maintenance, while assisting other maintenance and electrical employees in troubleshooting problematic systems including electrical, control, hydraulic, or other systems.Key Responsibilities:
- Champion a culture of reliability within the maintenance department by executing a data-driven approach to decision making with a focus on proactive maintenance strategies.
- Provide control support for all other areas of the mill during operating shifts if needed.
- Monitor Green End systems operation including lathe, trays, clipper, stackers, etc.
- Record any and all operational parameter changes during the shift.
- Work with programming of VFD, Allen Bradley software and ability to troubleshoot PLC’s.
- Observe current run trends and make needed changes in PLC programing or variables.
- Verify inventory of needed electrical parts in the lathe area and notify supervision of such.
- Keep MCC area free of unauthorized employees to assure their safety.
- Maintains safe and clean work environment by keeping the MCC orderly and neat.
- Wear the proper safety gear (PPE) for the job in progress.
- Maintain prints, tech manuals, and supporting documentation relating to the lathe area.
- Regularly lift and/or move objects 10-50 lbs., and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 lbs. with provided forklift, overhead cranes, etc.
- Communicate with previous and incoming shift employees to promote reliable operation.

- Ability to organize, multi-task, and prioritize to effectively resolve problems or issues.
Requirements/Qualifications:- 5 years related electrical experience or any equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
- Must successfully complete the Hood Industries Electrical Certification Process
- Willing and able to work any shift, holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
- Willing and able to work in a hot, cold, noisy, industrial environment.
- Willing and able to work perform tasks such as lifting, walking, climbing, stooping, standing, pushing, and/or pulling for up to 12 hours per day.
Preferred Requirements/Qualifications:- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience in working in wood products.
- Experience operating a forklift.
