The Fairfax County Department of Public Works and Environmental Services (DPWES) seeks an Equipment Repairer to assist with site SWPP inspections, troubleshooting, routine maintenance and repair, and prepare proper fuel mixtures for a wide variety of small engine equipment such as snow blowers, lawnmowers, power tampers, chain saws, brush cutters, concrete mixers, pumps, and augers. Thorough preventative maintenance and as needed repairs on salt spreaders and snow-related equipment. Maintains records of all equipment repaired, parts inventory, maintenance schedules, and fuel mixture ratios. Orders parts as needed. May supervise and instruct trade helpers. Drives a truck to and from job sites for emergency repairs and snow removal when necessary. This position will support the Maintenance Operations (MOPS) field staff with field assignments on an as-needed basis.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Any combination of education, experience, and training equivalent to completion of the tenth grade, and completion of an acceptable apprentice program in maintenance and repair work, and one year of successful journey-level experience in related maintenance and repair work.
