Position Summary
Supports the Dornier MedTech equipment sales and service business by preparing systems for shipment (test, repair and pack); inspects units upon arrival at Dornier MedTech (test, repair and re-pack); and repair failed subassemblies and PCB’s within the National Repair Center environment.
This job is an at-will position. Employment in this job is not for any fixed period of time, and either the Company or the employee may terminate employment at any time, with or without advance notice, and with or without cause. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Technical
- Performs troubleshooting and repairs to component level on assigned products.
- Performs troubleshooting, repair and pre-staging of laser equipment as required.
- Provide technical support to field service engineers and customers via the telephone, email etc. and effectively communicate issues to their direct supervisor in written and verbal formats.
- Maintains the repair center in an orderly fashion. This will include proper organization and cleanliness of the space at all times. Inventory items are only to be moved in temporarily for service related activity and then relocated back to the warehouse.
Administrative
- Maintains all written documentation for equipment repair and tracking purposes. Maintains files within the company database for proper costing, utilization and tracking.
- In cooperation with your supervisor, prioritize repairs to meet deadlines.
- Organize and maintains assigned tools, test equipment and work areas.
Travel
- Some overnight travel may be required for attending training sessions, supporting trade shows, assisting in field installations etc.
Developmental
- Stays current with all products assigned through attending training classes and by contacting vendors for repair instructions. Utilizes proper test equipment to perform job task and observe proper safety procedures.
- Successfully complete yearly assigned Training Needs Analysis and Training Plan objectives.

Education/Qualifications
- Associates degree in electronics or four years experience in bench repair to the component level with analog and digital control circuitry.
- Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written. Must exhibit good team building/participation skills and have the ability to manage his/her daily work schedule.
- Must possess good interpersonal skills.
Experience
- Capable of operating test equipment related to the position (oscilloscopes, meters, Diagnostic testers etc.).
Aptitude
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Operational Skills
- Language
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or government regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manual. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- Technical and Computing
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Windows, Word and Excel.
