Electronics Techician

  • The Electronic Technician is responsible for providing regional support and maintenance for existing data acquisition systems and other electronic devices. Requires technical expertise, problem-solving skills, strong communication, and adaptability to work in diverse environments and handle a range of electronic systems and equipment.  This position is rotational and based out of our Midland, TX office supporting multiple basins.

    Duties
    Responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electronic equipment and systems in various settings, often on-site at a customer's location or via remote troubleshooting guidance for field personnel.
    Equipment Installation: Technicians are responsible for setting up and installing electronic equipment such as systems, or devices at customer sites. This may involve connecting cables, configuring settings, and ensuring proper functionality.
    Maintenance and Inspection: Regular maintenance is crucial to ensure that electronic equipment operates efficiently and reliably. Technicians perform routine inspections, cleaning, and servicing to identify and address potential issues before they become major problems.
    Diagnosis and Troubleshooting: Technicians diagnose equipment malfunctions by using various tools, test equipment, and their expertise to identify the root cause.
    Testing and Calibration: After repairs or installations, technicians conduct thorough testing and calibration to ensure that the equipment operates within specified parameters and meets performance standards.
    Documentation: Technicians maintain detailed records of their work, including diagnoses, repairs, parts used, and maintenance schedules. Accurate documentation is essential for tracking equipment history and facilitating future troubleshooting. Understands and interprets drawings, technical manuals, specifications sheets and instructions.
    Communicate: Maintains communication with field staff to ensure proper job administrative functions are completed
    Working from Heights: Must be able to work safely at heights, 100ft , by operating a man lift, scissor lift, and climbing ladders, when necessary, by utilizing fall protection.
    Inventory Management: Technicians will manage inventory levels of replacement parts, tools, and equipment needed for repairs and installations.
    Travel: Electronics Technicians often need to travel to various customer sites, sometimes locally and other times over longer distances.
    All other duties assigned by management.

    Position Details
    FLSA Status:  Non-Exempt
    Job Status:  Full-time
    Amount of Travel Required:  up to 75%
    Reports to: Electronics Technician Supervisor
    Direct Reports:  none
    Work Schedule: Due to the nature of the business, weekend and evening hours are required. This position is open to non-local residents to work extended rotations as work locations may vary depending on workload. This rotational schedule will cover offices in Midland, TX and Pittsburgh, PA and worksites in the surrounding states.  Work rotation schedule typically 14 days on, 7 days off.

    Skills & Abilities
    Education:  Associate degree preferred, or 3 years’ experience in an electrical or an industrial controls position.

    Experience Required: 
    Familiarity with industrial control systems and sensors.
    Familiarity with AC & DC circuits.
    Familiarity with Process Meters and other electrical test equipment.
    Strong problem-solving skills
    Strong written and verbal communication skills
    Basic Networking
    Microsoft 365
    Windows 10

    Other Requirements:  Must maintain a valid driver’s license and meet minimum driving standards for company insurance purposes, successfully pass a pre-employment background check, drug screen, and physical where applicable.
