Responsibilities:
Under limited and general supervision performs moderate to complex activities in support of the development, implementation and maintenance of manufacturing methods for complicated high-reliability printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) and/or electronic systems (systems integration). Determines and develops the methods, operations, sequences and tooling for the assembly and/or rework of PCBAs and electronic systems. Conducts routine problem solving and failure analysis to solve process problems and resolve product quality issues. Follows written and verbal instructions to complete assigned tasks. Assigned duties require the use of good judgment and mature technical skills. Assignments must be completed with an awareness of all documented processes.
Key responsibilities include:
- Define methods and processes used to successfully and efficiently manufacture PCBAs and/or electronic systems.
- Define methods, processes and tooling used to efficiently manufacture cable and harness assemblies. This includes cutting, stripping, bending, terminating, crimping, tinning, twisting, labeling and harnessing activities.
- Work closely and effectively with program management to support customer requirements and expectations.
- Provide design for manufacturability and manufacturing technology support to customers.
- Work with the quote department to generate and complete quotes for PCBAs and/or electronic systems.
- Collaborate with management, production, quality and customers to prevent or resolve issues.
- Work closely and effectively with production to support the manufacture of PCBAs and/or electronic systems.
- Perform root-cause failure analysis of defects, process problems and products returned under RMA.
- Conduct technical research to investigate, validate and introduce new and advanced manufacturing technology.
- Assist in the company’s efforts of continuous process improvement and customer satisfaction.
- Lead teams working on continuous improvement projects and/or performing root-cause failure analysis.
- Generate and maintain documentation and processes as they apply to engineering and production.
- Perform internal audits to assess the performance of documented processes.
- Work effectively solo and in teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
