    Summary

    Augustine Casino is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Count Room Clerk to join our team. Under the supervision of the Count Room Manager and/or Lead in absence of Manager, the Count Room Clerk is responsible for the emptying of all currency and tickets from gaming machines, ticket redemption machines, and cigarette machines and counting the currency and coins. The Clerk must complete count total forms accurately, following stringent guidelines, gaming policies and procedures. This position must have the ability to work effective in a very fast-paced, confined, and team-oriented environment. Work shifts start at 4:45 am.


    Responsibilities

    • Perform Slot Drops including pulling and scanning live stackers from Slot machines, placing stackers on a secure cart for Count Room, and placing/scanning empty stackers in Slot machines.
    • Perform Slot Counts including placing live stackers from the cart on the table and putting stackers back on the cart after verifying each is empty; removing currency and tickets from each stacker, verifying the stacker is empty and placing the contents on top of the stacker; or scanning the stacker and running the currency and tickets through the count machine twice to obtain an accurate count. When all stackers have been counted, all team members will bundle the currency and tickets and place them on the cart.
    • Occasional TRM and cigarette machine counts and cassette filling.
    • Perform accurate counting and sorting of currency, chips, vouchers, and other items collected from gaming machines.
    • Verify counts and reconcile totals against documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with gaming regulations.
    • Prepare reports detailing counts and discrepancies discovered during the counting process.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of all financial information handled in the count room.
    • Adhere to casino policies and procedures related to cash handling, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.
    • Assist in maintaining cleanliness and organization of the count room area.
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to achieve operational goals and objectives.
    • Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

    Skills/Abilities

    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and recording currency.
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines.
    • Basic computer skills for data entry and report generation.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality and integrity in handling financial transactions.
    • Must be able to stand for extended periods of time and life/move moderate weights.

    Qualifications/Education/Experience

    • Must be 21 years of age or older.
    • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
    • Must be able to obtain and retain a gaming license through Augustine Gaming Commission.
    • Must be able and willing to work on the 1st of every month, including when this falls on a weekend day and/or holiday.
    • Prior experience in a cash handling, casino, or count room environment is preferred.
    • Must speak English fluently.

    Physical Demands/Work Environment

    • This position requires frequent standing for extended periods while performing tasks such as sorting and counting currency or walking within the Count Room area.
    • The precise handling of currency and tickets necessitates good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
    • Lifting/carrying/moving boxes, which can vary in weight but typically requires moderate lifting ability.
    • Repetitive movements, such as sorting and stacking.
    • The Count Room is a secure environment within the Casino, monitored by Surveillance and only accessible to authorized personnel.
    • The work environment may be noisy due to the operation of counting machines or other equipment used in the Count Room.
    • The temperature in the Count Room may vary but is usually controlled to ensure the integrity of the currency and equipment.
    • Count Room Clerks often work as part of a team and must communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors.
    • This position requires a high level of concentration and attention to detail to ensure accurate counting and recording of currency.
