A Day in the Life of a Labor Relations Generalist
The position assists with all matters related to labor relations, to include, but not limited to: grievances, contract negotiations, investigatory matters, complaints, and meet and discuss meetings. The position also serves in the capacity as a human resources generalist and will assist with orientation, onboarding, recruitment, hiring, and retention.- Manage the day-to-day Labor Relations activities. including employee grievance processingand investigations
- Apply policies, and rules and issue corrective action up to and including termination of employment Administering Labor contracts
- Provide Labor Relations training, as well as providing advice and counsel on policies, procedures and contract interpretation
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with management and employees to provide advice and counsel to both employee-related and organizational matters
- Serve as an employee advocate and as a coach to employees and leaders
- Lead all key HR processes including staffing, leadership development, compensation, talent development, performance management, and employee relations
- Lead identification, selection, and retention of world-class talent
- Monitor performance management programs and providing support and guidance to managers and employees on performance issues and assessment tools
Requirements of a Labor Relations Generalist- Experience working collaboratively in a matrix environment
- Working knowledge of employment laws, rules and regulations
- Very good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills; must be able to make effective presentations, to negotiate, to listen, and to influence
