Empowering individuals with disabilities to reach their career goals by developing technical and soft skills and accessing community-based resources is the primary role of this position. The Employment Specialist is responsible for the efficient day-to-day operations of our Workforce Programs, to provide Employment Support and assist the Director of Workforce Programs determine eligibility, placement, development, planning, job readiness training, admissions, and assessments to promote a vocational and employment-oriented philosophy for individuals with challenged lives seeking community-based services, and employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS/HOURS:

• Monday through Friday, normal business hours 7:30 am – 4:30 pm. Hours and work days, including weekends and holidays, may vary due to operational needs and contract requirements. Indoors, office setting (and telework available), outdoors; may travel to see employees, other program sites, meeting sites, etc., as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Required

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, social sciences, human services, or human resources from an accredited college or university. OR Bachelor’s degree in another field from an accredited college or university and two years of progressively responsible work experience training, onboarding, and/or recruiting employees
• Work Experience: Two years of progressively responsible paid work experience working with individuals with disabilities.
• Clearance/Certification: 1) TB clearance, 2) Criminal background check, 3) Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing, 4) Child Protective Services/Adult Protective check 5) Military Base access
• CPR/First Aid Certification, (Obtain on the job).
• Valid driver’s license and clean driver’s abstract
