EMT/Paramedic Supervisor jobs in Danbury, CT

EMT/Paramedic Supervisor supervises emergency medical staff consisting of EMTs, paramedics, and drivers. Administers the staff work schedule to ensure adequate coverage. Being an EMT/Paramedic Supervisor coordinates required training and development activities. Maintains activity logs and prepares required reports. Additionally, EMT/Paramedic Supervisor may require registry in NREMT. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR). Requires Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) - Basic. Typically reports to a manager. The EMT/Paramedic Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. To be an EMT/Paramedic Supervisor typically requires 3 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Annual Salary Range:  $40,000.00-$40.560.00 US Dollars

    Schedule: Full-time Days Weekends-As Needed Emergencies-As needed
     
    Essential Functions 

    • Set priorities for the team to ensure completion of tasks. 
    • Effectively recruit, manage, and lead a team with focus on maintaining the functionality and safety of operations. 
    • Participate in monitoring and developing team member performance, including evaluations, training, and recognition.
    • Ensure work assignments and schedules meet department, facility, and contractual needs. 
      Respond to client inquiries, requests, and concerns. 
    • Utilize company policies and guidelines to solve work problems. 
    • Ensure department training programs and recertification programs are being conducted within appropriate timeframes. 
    • Meet with clients to ensure needs and expectations are being met. 
    • Implement and manage quality control monitoring and safety programs; maintain a safe work environment. 
    • Achieve operational performance and functional service activities.  
    • Provide technical guidance and interpret policies and procedures to assist employees in performing functional tasks.   
    • Monitor and maintain appropriate staffing levels and daily schedules. 
    • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    • Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 
    • Experience:  1 to 3 years of experience. 

    Other:

    • Ability to adjust work schedule as needed to support the operation.   
    • Ability to effectively lead a staff of direct reports. 
    • Ability to effectively communicate and to read and interpret documents including safety rules, operating and procedural manuals, and handbooks. 
    • Basic understanding of computer programs, including Microsoft Office. 
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment. 
    • Ability to resolve issues under tight timeframes and pressure. 
    • Ability to prioritize assignments and projects and to multi-task within restricted time constraints. 
    • Excellent team building and planning skills. 
    • Strong interpersonal skills: ability to develop productive business relationships, and ability to influence and educate employees. 

    Licenses: 

    Industry-specific certification or licensure may be required. 

    Experience: 
    Previous supervisory experience preferred. 
     
    Respond to emergencies at night and on weekends as needed. 

    Work environment may require extended time standing, walking, and lifting. May also be exposed to hazardous chemicals.
