Endoscopy Technician performs various direct patient care activities in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of a physician. Ensures that all equipment is functioning properly. Being an Endoscopy Technician may assist with medical procedures. Typically requires an associate degree. Additionally, Endoscopy Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Endoscopy Technician works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Assists physician during operative and invasive procedures. Assures Endoscopy suite is adequately prepared for procedure. Monitors PAR level of all scopes and supplies. Cleans, disinfects and/or sterilizes all instruments. Participates in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities. On-Call rotation required. Performs other duties as assigned.
