Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as an Oil and Gas Landman. The Landman will play a crucial role in researching, negotiating, and acquiring mineral rights, leases, and surface rights for oil and gas exploration and production activities. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of the legal and regulatory frameworks surrounding land acquisition in the oil and gas industry.
Responsibilities:
1. Research and analyze land records, titles, deeds, leases, and other legal documents to determine ownership, rights, and interests in oil and gas properties.
2. Negotiate and secure mineral rights, leases, and surface agreements with landowners, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
3. Coordinate with legal counsel to draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to land acquisition and rights management.
4. Conduct due diligence assessments to identify potential risks and liabilities associated with land acquisitions and transactions.
5. Maintain accurate records and documentation of land ownership, agreements, and related activities.

7. Collaborate with geologists, engineers, and other professionals to assess the geological and technical aspects of potential oil and gas properties.

Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Land Management, Energy Management, Geology, Business Administration, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., Certified Professional Landman) are preferred but not required.
2. Proven experience working 5 years as a Landman in the oil and gas industry, with a strong understanding of land acquisition processes, title examination, and contract negotiation.
3. Familiarity with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing land and mineral rights, such as the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), state oil and gas statutes, and leasing practices.
4. Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex legal documents, title abstracts, and geological data.
5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively negotiate and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
6. Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail, with the capacity to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
7. Proficiency in industry-specific software and tools, land management databases, and title examination software.
8. Willingness to travel as needed and work in various locations, including field sites, corporate offices, and government agencies.
