Engagement Specialist jobs in the United States

Wichita State University Foundation and Alumni Engagement (WSUFAE) is looking for an organized, detailed oriented individual for our Website Specialist to join our Marketing and Communications team. The ideal candidate will work alongside the marketing team to help coordinate efforts to bring the WSUFAE brand to life through digital channels, by maintaining ongoing CMS operations. This includes building and maintain website pages, assisting with the integration of the WSUFAE’s online giving platform (iDonate), and providing support for ongoing email marketing efforts using a third-party system, all while representing our values of Integrity, Excellence, Collaboration, and Service.

Primary Responsibilities:

1. Website Strategy and Design:

• Serve as day-to-day website producer using CMS system (Wordpress) to develop and maintain a positive end-user experience across all website pages. This includes designing page layouts, optimizing website usability across desktop and mobile devices, and ensuring visual standards are maintained.
• Develop specialized landing pages for events and giving campaigns.
• Assit in updating and maintaining website content, including text, images, and multimedia.
• Help identify and resolve basic website issues, such as broken links, formatting errors or loading issues.
• Ensure the website is optimized for top-performing search engines.
• Develop solutions using JavaScript and PHP within the WordPress framework.

2. Online Giving

• Assist with the integration of online giving forms across the website and campaign-specific landing pages
• Develop and manage all WSUFAE crowdfunding pages using a third-party system

3. Research and recommend features, functions, and solutions to create compelling digital content that enhances WSUFAE’s ability to reach and engage a broader constituency.

4. Perform any other duties as assigned, including serving as backup for Digital Marketing Coordinator.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution and minimum of two years’ Web content management and design ----OR----- High school diploma/GED and minimum of five years’ experience including Web content management design

• Project a professional image at all times

Required Skills

• Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and Responsible Web Design
• Experience with Adobe Photoshop
• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and follow-through on projects
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Maintain confidentiality of information, records, and materials
• Highly motivated and able to work effectively independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Frequent and sudden movements from sitting, standing, bending, reaching, and walking.
• Frequent standing or sitting for prolonged periods
• Occasional climbing of stairs
• Occasional lifting up to 20 pounds
• Occasional exposure to outdoors and hot and inclement weather

Preferred Requirements and Skills

• Experience with Javascript/JQuery
• Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge database
• Experience with InDesign
• Online fundraising experience
• Photography and video skills
• Knowledge of Wichita State University and a commitment to higher education.
