Env., Health, and Safety Engineer implements and maintains company policies adhering to local, state and federal environmental, health and safety regulations. Involved in the design and development of facilities, work areas and work procedures and makes environmental, health and safety recommendations accordingly. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     McConway & Torley is seeking a Bilingual Safety Professional to work with us at our Kutztown, PA Plant. 

    As a Bilingual Safety Professional, you will work with a great group of people who really care about the job you do. 

     

    Location: Kutztown, PA

     

    Job duties will include the following:

    • Designs, develops, implements and oversees the organization's environmental health and safety programs and procedures to safeguard employees and surrounding communities and to ensure that facility is in compliance with regulations.
    • Conducts studies and investigations to ensure compliance with government safety and health laws, standards and regulations and industrial hygiene as well as environmental safety.
    • Investigates accidents and promotes safety-conscious work performance and training programs.
    • Provides safety performance measures.
    • Responsible for delivery of professional safety activities by applying standard safety techniques and procedures.
    • Responsible for planning own work, assessing own progress and adjusting efforts to meet goals.
    • Determines root cause analyses.

     

    What you'll need:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Able to work independently.
    • Able to work any and all shifts.
    • Must have a safety degree.

     

    Working Conditions:

    • Work Environment includes plant, warehouse, production and non-production areas and plant grounds.
    • This position may require work/maintenance coverage beyond the normal hours, shift, and on weekends/holidays.
    • Ability to tolerate both high and low temperatures, loud noises typical of a manufacturing plant.
    • Prolonged period sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at a time.

     

    Safety Activities

    • Be aware of and observe all safety practices. Including but not limited to - Safety glasses, safety boots, hearing protection, etc... as required.
    • Know and follow all safety committees and procedures.
    • Participate in safety committees and initiatives as assigned.
