Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and updating environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineer serves as contact with all federal, state, and local regulatory bodies. May require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor. To be an Env., Health, and Safety Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     We are looking for an Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for our client in Kenosha, WI.

    Essential Job Functions:

    • Advise on federal, state, and local EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
    • Conduct compliance audits, recommend corrective measures.
    • Manage regulatory submissions (air permits, spill prevention plans, etc.).
    • Develop and conduct EHS training programs for management and employees.
    • Assist in meeting corporate health, safety, sustainability, and environmental goals.
    • Provide daily guidance on EHS programs, ensuring a common approach.
    • Lead incident management and near-miss programs.
    • Ensure contractor compliance with safety requirements.
    • Facilitate Safety Committee activities, including safety inspections and meetings.
    • Direct plant personnel to achieve safety goals and objectives.

    General Responsibilities:

    • Stay informed on applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally.
    • Demonstrate strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Collaborate with diverse groups to achieve desired results.
    • Assemble, arrange, compute, and interpret data.
    • Generate required reports.

    Requirements:

    • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
    • Minimum 3 years of relevant safety experience, preferably in a lean manufacturing environment.
    • Proficient knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently with a sense of urgency.
    • Ability to work with diverse groups to achieve desired results.
    • Assemble, arrange, compute, and interpret data.
    • Generate reports as required.
    Pay: $60k - $90k/ year
