Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager plans, develops and manages company policies for adhering to local, state and federal environment, health and safety regulations. Designs and develops facilities, work areas and work procedures. Being an Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager directs preparation, maintenance, and updating of environmental policy and procedure manuals. Ensures compliance with all environmental, health and safety regulations, and keeps abreast of any changes to laws and regulations that impact the organization. Additionally, Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager ensures projects are completed on time and within budget. Acts as advisor to environmental, health, and safety engineering team regarding projects, tasks, and operations. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a unit/department head. The Env., Health, and Safety Engineering Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget.     Atticus Safety Consulting, LLC, a leading provider of occupational safety consulting services, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Consultant to join our team in Chesterfield, Virginia. As a Safety Consultant, you will play a vital role in ensuring the implementation and maintenance of effective safety measures within our client projects.

    Responsibilities:

    - Conduct safety meetings, audits, and inspections to ensure compliance, evaluate performance, identify corrective actions, and implement follow-up assessments.

    - Plan, implement, and conduct safety training programs to educate employees and contractors on best practices and safety protocols.

    - Provide guidance on safety-related matters to the project management team, ensuring project sites fulfill industry, local, state, and federal guidelines.

    - Ensure that all work is performed in accordance with approved manuals, internal policies and procedures, and contract documents.

    - Provide technical support to project managers, assisting with safety-related queries, assessments, and recommendations.

    - Report the status of projects to the project team and client, providing regular updates and addressing any safety concerns or issues.

    - Participate in team meetings and maintain regular on-site project presence to monitor safety practices and address potential hazards.

    **Qualifications:**

    -A previous experience in safety/occupational management, 5 years experience preferred.

    -OSHA 500 certification

    -Majority of experience in site development or similar work.

    -CHST preferred.

    - Strong knowledge of industry safety standards, regulations, and best practices.

    - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with project teams, clients, and employees at all levels.

    - Proficiency in conducting safety audits, inspections, and delivering safety training programs.

    **Contract Details:**

    - This position is a 3 month contract with a possible permanent position after.

    - The expected work schedule is 40 hours per week, with flexibility.

    - The job location is Chesterfield, Virginia.
