Environmental Compliance Specialist conducts required environmental tests, analysis and observations. Evaluates results and makes recommendations as necessary for maintaining compliance with regulatory agencies. Being an Environmental Compliance Specialist requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Environmental Compliance Specialist relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Energy Management
Coordinate environmental reporting for Energy Management operations including: bacteriological, cooling tower effluent, fuel compliance, air emissions, quarterly monitoring reports, annual and semi-annual reports, emissions inventory questionnaire, operating permits, and construction permits.
Manage third party emission performance testing, including relative accuracy test audits. Industrial Boiler MACT compliance testing, new source performance tests and other source testing as required.
Submit environment compliance reports to MDNR and EPA
Maintain compliance and fulfill all record keeping requirements associated with facility’s Part 70 Title V Operating Permit.
Maintain Method 9 certification of Visible Opacity Reading and conduct routine Method 22 opacity observations.
Coordinate environmental consultant review and submit new source air permit applications as required.
Evaluate compliance with existing, new and proposed environmental regulations including Clean Air Amendments, Clean Water Amendments, OSHA, PCB management, Greenhouse Gas Reporting.
Storm Water management and oversee best management practices for maintaining clean storm water discharge. Conduct routine tank inspection and manage site’s SPCC program. (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeausre).
Oversee environmental and safety programs within Energy Management including power plant data acquisition system, confined space entry procedures, chlorine handling safety, excavation safety, lockout/tagout procedures, first aid training, backflow prevention, hazardous materials handling, material safety data sheets.
Serve as a resource for all safety training for the Energy Management Department.
Potable water testing and analysis (work with plant water chemistry specialist)

Bachelor's degree in related/relevant area or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 5 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary
Previous experience in a supervisory role is preferred.
Salary Range: $67,746 - $132,309 annually
