    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Support the Environmental Manager and Coordinator in day-to-day compliance activities and tasks.
    • Implement and assist with field environmental programs, encompassing water quality, hydrology, groundwater, climate and air quality, waste management, sediment, and aquatic resources.
    • Conduct field site inspections for environmental risk assessment and perform regular environmental site inspections related to mining activities.
    • Collect, manage, analyze, and report on environmental data, and ensure adherence to Conuma's environmental policies, standards, management plans, and regulatory requirements.
    • Liaise with external laboratories to ensure the timely receipt of samples
    • Work closely with various departments to ensure regulatory and environmental compliance across operations.
    • Foster and maintain productive working relationships for consistent adherence to regulatory and environmental standards.
    • Contribute to the development and execution of environmental monitoring programs.
    • Other duties as required.

    Education, Experience & Qualifications

    • Diploma or Degree in Environmental Technology, Biological Sciences Technology, Earth/Environmental Science, Geochemistry, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
    • Valid Driver's License
    • At least 1-2 years' experience in environmental aspects relevant to the mining industry or other natural resource sectors. This includes experience in water quality, air quality, environmental effects monitoring, permitting processes, regulatory liaison, and consultation with stakeholders and First Nations.
    • Capability to work effectively with diverse teams across operational, engineering, and environmental departments, contributing to operational objectives, risk management, and compliance with corporate standards.
    • Developing skills in building and maintaining relationships with regulatory bodies, First Nations, inter-departmental teams, and other key stakeholders.
    • Understanding of Environmental Management Systems.

    Technical Competencies & Skills

    • Ability to adhere to the assigned work schedule, which may include either a 5x2 schedule or a 7x7 rotation with 12-hour shifts.
    • Must be able to communicate in English.
    • Proven safety and attendance record.
    • Proficiency in using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
    • High level of attention to detail and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision and to prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Experience in implementing technical environmental programs related to resource development, preferably in the mining sector.
    • Familiarity with environmental legislation relevant to mining in BC, including the BC Mines Act, BC Environmental Management Act, Federal Fisheries Act, Federal Species at Risk Act, and BC Wildlife Act.
    • Understanding of risk assessment and management approaches in environmental contexts.
    • Capability to build strong working relationships internally and with diverse groups, including operational, engineering, and environmental staff.
    • Experience or willingness to learn techniques and technologies in environmental management specific to mining sites.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic work environment, including the ability to work in all weather conditions and willingness to learn to operate equipment such as all-terrain vehicles and snowmobiles.

    Wage and Benefits

    Conuma Resources takes pride in providing industry-competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package that truly values our employees. Specifically for the Environmental Technician role, we offer an annual base salary range of $68,000.00 - $84,000.00, along with a variety of bonuses, including a monthly efficiency bonuses based on safety and production targets, and quarterly retention bonuses. Our benefits package also includes paid vacation and personal days, 7% RRSP matching, and 100% employer-paid extended health and dental care, among other valuable perks.
