  • Aegis Environmental, Inc., a Greenwood, Indiana-based environmental consulting firm, is seeking to fill the position of an Environmental Technician in our Michigan City, Indiana office. The successful candidate must have a high school degree or GED. Typical projects include water quality sampling, soil sampling, and indoor air quality testing such as asbestos, lead, mold, and radon. The position also includes assisting with asbestos, lead paint, underground storage tank, and other cleanup projects. The ability to operate equipment such as a backhoe and Bobcat is a plus. The candidate must be detail orientated and able to communicate with clients and staff effectively. Hours will vary depending on the needs at the job site and involve working outdoors; typical workdays are 8 to 5. Minimal travel is required.

    Typical responsibilities will include:

    • Field sampling and data collection
    • Routine maintenance of field equipment
    • Assist with cleanup/abatement projects
    • Subcontractor oversight and management
    • Assisting project managers
