Environmental Engineering Technician jobs in Washington Navy Yard, DC

Education:: High School Diploma or GED. Associate Degree preferred.

Months/Years of Experience: :At least one (1) year experience performing simple routine tasks under close supervision or form detailed procedures.

Required Qualifications: :U.S. Citizen. Security Clearance required. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude working with hand and power tools. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Skills Needed: :Some of the following skills are a plus,
• Strong knowledge with Microsoft Office software suite (i.e. MS Word, MS Teams, etc.)
• Experience with mechanical shock and vibration testing
• Experience working in a test laboratory setting
• Electrical journeyman’s license or higher
• Experience with electrical controls
• Holds an active certification in a technical trade
• Experience working with heavy machinery
• Experience with Data Acquisition (DAQ) equipment
• Experience with shock and vibration control software (e.x. DataPhysics, Vibration Research, etc.)
• Experience with setting up or manipulating computer networks and databases

Duties: :Performs one or a combination of such typical duties as:
Assembling or installing equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connecting. Performing simple or routine tasks or tests such as tensile or hardness tests; operating and adjusting simple test equipment; records test data. Gathering and maintaining specified records of engineering data such as tests, drawings, etc.; performing computations by substituting numbers in specified formulas; plotting data and draws simple curves and graphs. Must be willing to get ordnance certified
