Responsible for implementing, coordinating and monitoring system wide Injury Prevention and Safe Patient Handling Programs.
Responsibilities
- Job Roles• Safetyo Manages processes effectively in regard to employee/patient safety.• Record Keepingo Maintains all required records, reports, statistics, logs, files and other documents related to occupational safety. • Process Improvemento Promotes a culture of process improvement by establishing unit/department based programs that supports the system’s process improvement goals.o Actively participates on system-wide or hospital-based teams.• Role Specific Responsibilitieso Designs, implements and evaluates Injury Prevention and Safe Patient Handling Programso Plans, implements and evaluates Safe Patient Handling and Ergonomic orientation activitieso Provides annual Safe Patient Handling and Ergonomic education & trainingo Assists in development of post offer physical function testingo Provides ergonomic assessments and appropriate recommendations.o Assists Occupational Health & Safety Manager with case management/navigation services to injured employeeso Assists Occupational Health & Safety Manager investigate, monitor and analyze injuries and trends, as well as methods to promote and protect employee safetyo Assists Occupational Health & Safety Manager maintaining records regarding all occupational injuries and exposures as required by federal and state regulationso Provides recommendations for loss prevention strategies and safety awareness programso Provides information, education and support to management and Human Resources regarding employee safety issues effecting employee job performance
Qualifications
Education• Bachelor’s Degree in safety, kinesiology, exercise science or other healthcare related field preferredLicenses and Certification• Certified Ergonomic Assessment Specialist preferred -Experience and Skills• Safety & Training Experience: 3 years
