Environmental Manager oversees the analysis and evaluation of air, water, and land systems to determine if pollutants are present and directs the implementation of appropriate corrective action if necessary. Develops and plans policies and procedures related to air, water, and land systems in accordance with organization and government rules and regulations. Being an Environmental Manager evaluates operations and makes recommendations to reduce waste or pollution. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline. Additionally, Environmental Manager typically reports to head of a unit/department. The Environmental Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be an Environmental Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Academic Program Manager, Environmental and Natural Resources

  • Instructional Development and Teaching Performance. (Responsible for the supervision and management of faculty members in this area.)
    A. Demonstrates thorough knowledge of teaching area subject matter and teaches courses during day,evening, Saturday, on campus and off campus
    B. Evaluates students' progress and maintains accurate administrative records pertaining to classes.
    C. Prepares daily lectures and supplemental course materials to enhance instruction.
    D. Prepares and evaluates tests, exams, projects, research assignments, and other course assignments.
    E. Reviews the programs and makes necessary changes, examines textbooks and software and makes necessary changes, and develops course syllabi.

    Student Advisement: Counsels students with academic, career, and personal needs and advises students for registration.

    College and Community Services:
    A. Examines program/course content to achieve program and College goals.
    B. Performs college administrative duties, attends College meetings, and assists with recruiting efforts.
    C. Performs other assignments that enhance the mission of the College.

    Professional Development: Develops and implements a professional development plan.

    Instructional Management: Performs all program management/instructor academic administrative and College-related duties in a timely manner. Duties include preparing and administering the departmental budget, preparing semester schedules and book orders, employing adjuncts, and evaluating instructors.

    Master's degree in Environmental Engineering Technology; or Master's degree with 18 graduate semester hours in Environmental Engineering Technology.Central Carolina Technical College is sincerely committed to both effective managerial practice and equitable treatment of employees.
