Laboratory Services Sales Specialist

  • Western Environmental Testing Laboratory (WETLAB) with locations in Sparks, Elko, and Las Vegas, Nevada is a full service, fun, and fast-paced client-oriented environmental testing laboratory. WETLAB is currently accepting resumes for a Laboratory Sales Service Specialist in our Sparks, NV facility.     Job Summary/Objective:

    The Laboratory Services Sales Specialist is responsible for identifying and driving business opportunities for the laboratory services offered by WETLAB-Western Environmental Testing Laboratory. This role involves cultivating relationships with prospective clients, maintaining relationships with current clients, and working closely with technical teams to ensure that the services provided align with client needs. The Sales Specialist will focus on expanding the customer base, meeting sales targets, and representing the laboratory in various markets including (but not limited to) environmental, mining, water treatment and industrial sectors.

    Salary/Wage Range: $52,000--$62,400/yr commission

    Reports To: Client Services Manager

    Location: Sparks, NV

    • Sales and Business Development:
    • Identify new business opportunities and generate leads through networking, research, and outreach.
    • Meet and exceed sales quotas by promoting laboratory services to prospective and existing clients.
    • Develop and execute sales strategies to expand client base and market reach.
    • Actively pursue cross-selling opportunities by understanding all laboratory service offerings and identifying potential client needs.
    • Client Relationship Management:
    • Maintain and strengthen relationships with current clients, ensuring high levels of satisfaction.
    • Collaborate with clients to understand their business needs and tailor laboratory solutions accordingly.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for clients throughout the sales process and project execution.
    • Provide post-sale support and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction and foster long-term partnerships.
    • Market Research & Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to stay up-to-date on industry trends, competitors, and potential business opportunities.
    • Provide feedback to management regarding market conditions, client demands, and service enhancement opportunities.
    • Prepare detailed sales reports, forecasts, and market analysis to inform sales strategy and service development.
    • Collaboration with Technical Teams:
    • Work closely with laboratory technicians and scientists to ensure seamless project execution and service delivery.
    • Understand the technical aspects of laboratory services to effectively communicate with clients and address their concerns.
    • Assist in the creation of proposals and presentations for client meetings, ensuring technical accuracy and clear value propositions.
    • Other duties as assigned

    • Proficiency in Google Suite/Workspace or Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook, Excel, and Word.

    Education and Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Chemistry, Business Administration, or a related field.
    • 3 years of sales experience, preferably in laboratory services or a related industry (e.g., healthcare, environmental testing, biotechnology).
    • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients.
    • Technical understanding of laboratory services and the ability to translate complex concepts into client-friendly language.
    • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
    • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple client accounts.

    · Preferred:

    • Experience in environmental testing or industrial laboratory services.
    • Knowledge of relevant industry regulations and standards.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to stand and or sit for 8 hours per day.
    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer may be required.
    • Completion of tasks that require sitting, standing, bending, twisting, grasping, walking up and down stairs, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
    • Attendance at meetings, both in-person and virtual, and participation in conference calls.
    • Attendance at trade events and industry conferences.

    Work Environment and Schedule:

    • Typical office and lab environment, temperature controlled.
    • Workweek is 5 days/week, 8 hours/day, day shift. Some overtime and weekend will be required.

    Travel Required:

    • Ability to travel as needed to meet with clients and attend industry conferences or trade shows.
    • Travel throughout the state or country including overnight travel, early mornings, and late nights.

    Additional Requirements:

    • Must be able to pass an employment criminal background check and drug screen.
    • US Work Authorization required.
