Equipment Engineering Manager manages equipment engineering activities within an organization. Implements and maintains policies and procedures for designing, developing and implementing equipment. Being an Equipment Engineering Manager ensures all equipment engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies and objectives. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Equipment Engineering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Position requires thorough knowledge of Drainage and H&H design and engineering techniques. Responsible for planning and conducting independent work requiring judgment in the evaluation, selection, application and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures and criteria. Devise new approaches to unique problems, and prepare or modify drawings, specifications, calculations, and monitor work for compliance to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices and company standards. 

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Review project design 
    • Perform design and analysis calculations using governing codes and standards, engineering formulas, skills, and experience
    • Assist with project management and scheduling 
    • Prepare reports 
    • Develop probable construction cost estimates for projects 
    • Observe construction and coordinate with contractors
    • Coordinate work with other disciplines such as roadway, geotechnical, structures, etc.
    • Handle routine contract administration 

    Required Credentials

    • Bachelors degree in Engineering
    • P.E. license  is required. 
    • Natural leader willing to champion a team of engineers and technicians
    • 10 plus years Drainage and /or H&H Engineering work-related experience
    • 4 plus years in performing project management.
