  • Duties

    As an Engineering Equipment Operator, your duties will include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Operate and maintain heavy motorized equipment (e.g., front-end loader, forklift, dump truck, farm agricultural tractor and implements, rubber-tired backhoe/loader, skid steer, excavator, bulldozer, road grader) and other pieces of equipment as needed for project activities.
    • Operate power tools and specialty equipment, including handsaws, power saws, power planers, plumb bobs, mercury gauges, dividers, closet augers, hydrostatic pumps, industrial hydraulic pumps, lead pots, pipe threaders and cutters, soldering irons, electrical circuit testing equipment and gas and electrical welders.
    • Service and repair equipment that includes checking fluids, lubricating, replacing components that require dismantling of the equipment such as radiators, hydraulic tanks, alternators, tracks, and excavator bucket teeth, and rebuilding components.
    • Maintain and/or repair tools and equipment including welders, oxygen/acetylene torches, grinders, metal saws, industrial hydraulic pumps and other related equipment.

    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
