Aztec Sand and Gravel had immediate need for full-time exp. Excavator Operator

Job Summary : Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the construction excavator/hoe. The Excavator/Hoe Operator uses mechanical controls to operate the boom, arm and bucket to excavate, level off and work the ground.

Job Responsibilities:

• Operate the excavator and other heavy equipment in a safe manner
• Critical analysis of attention to detail with Safety, throughput and quality of products produced
• Repeatedly Climb ladders safely
• Situational Awareness in an Active dredging/quarrying operation
• Handling and moving of material
• Be able to self-motivate in an independent working environment
• Daily maintenance of equipment
• Maintain daily logs of equipment usage, maintenance, etc.
• Identify, report and correct hazards
• Perform tasks while maintaining all safety and environmental rules and ensure all work is done in a manner which enhances the safety of the work environment
• May be asked to operate other heavy equipment
• May be asked to perform various plant functions
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred
• Knowledge of Excavator/Hoes and other heavy equipment
• 2 to 3 years’ experience operating an Excavator/Hoe is required.
• Ability to work independently

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit or stand for long periods; handle and manipulate objects on a repetitive basis. Ability to see well and distinguish between back up alarms, voices and other normal sounds consistent with construction job sites. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

Working Conditions:

The essential functions of this job are performed in outside work environment in various weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold. On a daily basis, Incumbents are exposed to loud noise, vibrations, dust, sand and fumes
