The ER Technician prepares patients for physician examination. Provides clinical and administrative support to emergency department staff. Being an ER Technician provides wound care and assists with splints, slings, casts, and crutches. Measures and records vital signs, performs EKGs, and collects lab samples as needed. In addition, ER Technician cleans, inspects, and sets up emergency rooms and equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR/BLS Certification. May require EMT or CNA Certification. I. Summary
The Emergency Room Registered Nurse is an integral part of the Emergency Room and nursing service. The nurse will perform duties within his/her scope of practice and license to ER, Med/Surg patients from pediatrics to geriatrics as well as newborns as designated by State and Federal regulations. The nurse will continually demonstrate an ability to competently provide individualized goal directed nursing care for patients utilizing the nursing process throughout admission to discharge from the ER. Charting will be done in a clear, concise manner. The nurse must have the ability to communicate clearly and maintain a good working rapport with the physicians, patients, families and peers. This nurse must maintain a professional manner and attitude and should remain calm in difficult patient situations. He/she must possess good organizational skills, good judgement and initiative.

Registered Nurse from an accredited school of nursing with a current license from the State of Mississippi. Current certification in Basic Life Support and recommended Advance Life Support and Pediatric Life Support certification.
