The ER Technician prepares patients for physician examination. Provides clinical and administrative support to emergency department staff. Being an ER Technician provides wound care and assists with splints, slings, casts, and crutches. Measures and records vital signs, performs EKGs, and collects lab samples as needed. In addition, ER Technician cleans, inspects, and sets up emergency rooms and equipment. Requires a high school diploma. Requires CPR/BLS Certification. May require EMT or CNA Certification. Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled ER/Urgent Care/Medical Office Patient Technician to join our healthcare team at Central Illinois Urgent Care in Lincoln, Illinois. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in providing quality patient care in an urgent care clinic environment . The clinic is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 7 pm and 10 am to 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays. The position is a biweekly rotation schedule on Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday.
Applicants must have work experience in the environments of ER, Urgent Care, Medical Provider Office collaborating with the providers in providing patient care directly.

Duties
- Administer medications as prescribed by healthcare providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with safety protocols. Administer SQ/IM Injections. Administer IVs.
- Measure and record vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates. Obtain chief complaints from patients. Obtain medication history and reconciliation of medications. Obtain PFSH and past and present medical history.
- Support attending providers preparing patients for examinations and procedures.
- Maintain patient records and documentation in accordance with healthcare regulations and clinic policies.
- Provide assistance in both outpatient clinics and inpatient settings, adapting to the needs of various departments.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the clinical environment to promote patient safety and comfort.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to deliver comprehensive patient care.
Skills
- Proficient in medication administration techniques and understanding of pharmacology.
- Strong ability to accurately measure and interpret vital signs.
- Experience working in an urgent care and emergency room environments are advantageous.
- Competence in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems for patient documentation.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members professionally.
