    Who We Are:

The Modern Classrooms Project is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that empowers educators to build classrooms that respond to every student’s needs. Founded by two award-winning teachers, we lead a movement of educators in implementing a self-paced, mastery-based instructional model that leverages technology to foster human connection, authentic learning, and social-emotional growth.

To date, we have reached over 90,000 teachers through our free online course and Virtual Mentorship Program from over 200 school, district, and state partners. We are an ambitious, idealistic team led by former classroom teachers, and we are passionate about what we do.

    Job Description:

The Educator Support Manager will work within a designated portfolio of partners to support the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of Modern Classrooms educators and to expand the reach of Modern Classrooms Project’s mission. Managers are responsible for providing a world-class experience for their educators, from recruitment through implementation. This role supports increased quality of teaching, leading to more students learning in responsive, personalized classrooms.

    Roles and Responsibilities:

The Educator Support Manager will report directly to the Senior Director of Educator Support and will work on three key areas:

Teacher Recruitment - While partnerships are developed at the school, district, or state levels, every teacher decides about whether or not to engage with the Modern Classrooms Project. The Educator Support Manager will:

    • Execute recruitment cycles with efficiency, creativity, and organization
    • Use data to achieve specific goals for teacher participation within each partner
    • Tailor the recruitment approach based on the needs, challenges, incoming data, and opportunities for each partner
    • Host teacher information sessions, both in-person and remotely
    • Communicate regularly, and in various forms, with educators in every recruitment cycle across their partner portfolio
    • Gather, monitor, and communicate recruitment metrics

Educator Support - The Educator Support Manager provides ongoing support to educators in their portfolio during and after enrollment with the Modern Classrooms Project. The support may include:

    • Regular outreach, in various forms, to educators
    • Responding to educator inquiries
    • Coaching on MCP implementation
    • Supporting math training and coaching for math educators within assigned partnership portfolio
    • Coordinating and facilitating workshops, events, and other professional learning opportunities, both in-person and virtually
    • Visiting Modern Classrooms to observe practice, provide feedback, and steward relationships

Administrative Tasks and Special Projects as Assigned - The Educator Support Manager will hold some administrative tasks and special projects to support the ongoing health of partnerships in the portfolio, including data input, managing Asana projects, and generating collateral.

Habits of Work Required for the Role:

    • Building Relationships with Educators and Partners: Building strong and lasting relationships with educators and partners virtually and in person is at the heart of this role. The MCP model works best when the implementation approach is tailored to the unique context of the teacher and the partner. Travel is a required part of building relationships because our partners are conducting work in person.

    • Strong Follow-Through: Executing assigned tasks and commitments on stated timelines is essential to building and maintaining trusting relationships with educators and partners and supporting the success of our team’s goals.

    • Attention to Detail in High Volume Work: From Salesforce data entry to planning every minute of a classroom visit, a keen attention to detail and high level of organization is required for every part of this role.

    • Empathetic and Dynamic Communicator: Embodies first-in-class customer service through respect and understanding of the unique experiences of K-12 educators; excellent written and verbal communication skills with comfort presenting to diverse groups of educators.

    • Dynamic and Resourceful Learner: Identifies and anticipates problems and leverages resources to creatively problem solve.

    • Ability and Willingness to Collaborate Across Teams: Works flexibly across teams to ensure smooth cross-functional coordination to meet the needs of the organization and the educators we serve.

    Must-Have Skills and Competencies:

    • Experience supporting educators with concrete suggestions and specific, effective feedback

    • Track record of strong communication skills across mediums including public speaking, presentations, writing, and in one-on-one interactions with educators

    • Excellent relationship-building skills, including listening, problem-solving, and following through on commitments

    • Deep appreciation for high-quality curriculum and its impact on student learning and success

    • Exceptional organizational skills and record of managing a high volume of tasks, meeting deadlines, and fulfilling work obligations

    • Goals-oriented with a high degree of initiative and independence

    • Data-driven decision-maker with the ability to pivot seamlessly when presented with new data

    • Adaptability to work in a start-up environment, including readiness for remote, independent work and flexibility to meet the needs of a growing organization

    • Experience with productivity tools like Asana, Slack, and Google Workspace

    Preferred Experiences:

    • Based in the Pacific or Mountain time zone

    • Experience utilizing the Modern Classrooms Project instructional model as an educator

    • Experience teaching math using high quality math instructional materials

    • Established network with schools and school systems in their region

    • Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM

Compensation and Benefits:  We aim to offer a competitive compensation package, as well as the opportunity to work in a fast-growing startup that is on a mission to improve education worldwide.  This includes:

    • Salaried Position: $80,000 - $90,000 per year

    • Employer-sponsored health insurance through CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield

    • Participation in Vanguard 403(b) deferred-compensation plan with 3% employer match

    • Paid Time Off, inclusive of: vacation/PTO (20 days), paid holidays, paid parental leave, sick and safe paid time off, "Me Days", and the ability to earn paid Comp time off

    • MCP funded Continuous Learning for the program(s) you request (available after 6 months of continuous full-time employment)

    • FSA and Dependent Care FSA access

    • 1x Salary Life Insurance company-paid coverage

    • Access to Wishbone Pet Insurance Benefit

    • Ability to work remotely and to set own hours (within reason)
