Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in the pre-construction phase by accurately estimating the costs associated with upcoming projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of construction processes, materials, and labor costs, along with excellent analytical and communication skills.

Responsibilities:

• Project Evaluation: Review project plans, specifications, and other documents to gain a comprehensive understanding of the scope of work and project requirements.
• Cost Estimation: Utilize estimating software, historical data, and industry knowledge to prepare accurate cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination: Solicit and evaluate bids from vendors and subcontractors, negotiating pricing and terms to ensure competitive advantage and adherence to project budgets.
• Value Engineering: Collaborate with project stakeholders to identify cost-saving opportunities through value engineering without compromising quality or project requirements.
• Risk Assessment: Identify and analyze potential risks and uncertainties associated with project costs, proposing strategies to mitigate risks and maintain budgetary integrity.
• Bid Preparation: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and cost breakdowns for submission to clients, ensuring compliance with project specifications and contractual requirements.
• Communication: Effectively communicate with internal teams, clients, vendors, and subcontractors to clarify project requirements, address concerns, and maintain positive relationships throughout the estimation process.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of cost estimates, bid proposals, and related documentation, ensuring accessibility and compliance with company standards and procedures.

Qualifications:

• Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (preferred) OR equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or similar role in the construction industry.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret technical documents, drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with clients, vendors, and subcontractors.
• Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes/regulations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $36.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
