Estimator - Materials analyzes job requirements and project proposals to estimate amounts and types of raw materials required to complete tasks. Researches and evaluates suppliers to ensure the availability of materials and confirm that materials meet the organization's standards of price and quality. Being an Estimator - Materials may need the ability to use CAD software and interpret technical documents such as blueprints or mechanical drawings. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Estimator - Materials typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Estimator - Materials occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Reporting to the Director of Materials Management, this position is responsible for aligning Hospital contracted pricing from multiple sources into the materials management module. - Experience in purchasing and distribution functions in a hospital setting, including purchasing administration techniques, inventory control functions, and contract negotiations.
- Experience with the population and maintenance of electronic materials management systems strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, supply chain, or three years related equivalent experience desired.
- Current Certified Materials & Resource Professional (CMRP) certification preferred.
- Intermediate expertise in Excel and Word, and a basic working knowledge of Outlook.
