Estimator Trainee jobs in New London, CT

SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the Estimator is estimate new jobs and requote existing jobs. The Estimator may assist office staff in requoting jobs. The Estimator will receive and respond to customer calls in reference to quotes and any related estimate question. This job will require visiting job sites to measure rooms for flooring.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

-Work with customers who come into store to show them flooring samples, describe different products, answer questions relative to products and their installation

-Answer phones as necessary

-Document customer information and schedule measuring appointments as necessary

-Go to jobsites to measure rooms for flooring, determine other aspects of job such as installing subfloor, rip out of existing flooring, transitions needed, moving furniture or appliances, etc.

-Prepare estimates based upon jobsite visit, and email or communicate estimates to customer and answer questions, as necessary.

-Prepare purchase orders and order materials, as necessary

-Schedule installation, coordinate installers to perform installation, and document written instructions for installer

-Follow up on customer concerns post installation and schedule follow up visits as necessary
