Job Description
St Mark’s Lutheran Home is seeking an Executive Director/Nursing Home Administrator to join the team. St Mark’s consists of a 57-bed skilled nursing facility including a TCU with an attached 25 unit Assisted Living, 25 Memory Care and 48-unit independent living apartment with section 8 housing.
The Executive Director/Nursing Home Administrator oversees the daily operations of the campus and related business lines. The responsibilities will include fiscal management, supervising resident care, supervising department managers staffing, and community outreach. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local standard of long-term care is essential in this position.
Job Functions:
Resident care management
1. Plan, implement and evaluate programs to ensure that high standards of care are maintained
2. Participate in Quality improvement efforts with care team
3. Monitor and evaluate resident and family satisfaction
4. Participate in care conferences, resident and family council as needed
5. Meet with families and/or residents to help resolve any concerns
6. Assist in investigating and reporting any reports of abuse, neglect, or financial exploitation
Personnel management:
1. Establish a work environment that fosters communication between management and all team members
2. Assist in recruiting, training, and retaining individual to provide quality care to the residents of St Mark’s
3. Assure timely evaluations of all department managers and all team members
4. Plan and implement personnel policies
5. Provide and attend regularly scheduled department team meetings
6. Manages subordinate supervisors who supervise employees in the Nursing, Social Services, Activities, Maintenance, Business Office, Housekeeping, Laundry, and Dietary Departments
7. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Financial Management
1. Assist in developing and manage a budget for the facility in assuring members are meeting financial budgets
2. Assist in monitoring financial expense allocations of purchases
3. Communicate the financial performance in a timely fashion to the Regional Director and CEO.
4. Assist in insurance authorization, and accurate case mix assessments
5. Assist in collections of residents for services rendered
Environmental Management
1. Ensure a safe, clean, and attractive environment both inside and outside
2. Assist in developing systems to maintain and improve buildings, grounds, and equipment
3. Assist in development in a program that provides a clean, attractive, and homelike environment for resident’s staff and visitors.
4. Implement, plan, and monitor an overall safety program which will ensure the health, welfare, and safety of resident staff and visitors
5. Implement, plan, and monitor an emergency preparedness, fire, and dictator program to protect eh safety and welfare of resident, staff, and property
Regulatory management
1. Plan, implement, monitor, and implement and evaluate policies and procedure to maintain compliance with laws and regulations
2. Plan, implement, monitor, and evaluate policies and procedures to maintain compliance with directives of all governing entities
3. Comply with all laws, regulatory codes, and governing entities policies. This includes all state and federal rules and regulations
4. Active participation in every state/federal survey or investigation.
5. Prepare, audit, and educate team members on survey processes
Organizational Management
1. Ensure integration of all aspects of the operation through leadership and direction
2. Monitor and evaluate outcomes of all programs, policies, and procedure of the facility to ensure effectiveness
3. Ensure the integration of resident rights with all aspect of the facility operations
4. Knowledge of risk management principles needed
5. Plan and promote integration between the facility and other community resources
6. Participates as a member of the management bargaining committee in collective bargaining negotiations
7.
Marketing and Public Relations
1. Get involved with local community groups and evaluate how the communities are informed of the services offered.
2. Assure a system for communicating with residents, families, staff, volunteers, community, and governing bodies.
3. Assure communications and relations with referring hospitals and clinics
4. Be involved in local community events.
Qualifications

Pay: $100,000 – 130,000/ year
