Summary

HII Mission Technologies is currently seeking a part-time Joint Training & Exercise Specialist in Doral, FL.

HII Mission Technologies provides mission-critical engineering and technical services to Information Technology, Federal Civilian, and National Security, Aerospace & Defense, and International government and commercial customers at over 100 locations worldwide.

What You Will Do

Designs and delivers programs to train all levels of personnel. Develops tests and visual aids, conducts training classes, and develops criteria for evaluating effectiveness of training activities.

Keeps abreast of training and development research : learning theory, motivation theory, and new materials, methods, and techniques.

Develops in-house programs and practices to identify developmental needs, including preparing personnel for more responsible positions and increasing effectiveness in present assignments.

May evaluate and / or oversee contractors or vendors to develop and / or administer training programs. May be responsible for development of e-learning programs.

• Individual will support the USSOUTHCOM J7 / 9 Training and Exercises Division for USSOUTHCOM Joint Exercises and Wargames.
• Applicant may be required to travel throughout the Central and South American region. Travel will be reimbursed in accordance with the Joint Travel Regulations (JTR).

Candidate will provide support to J7 / 9 both on-site at USSOUTHCOM, Doral, FL, and various Joint Exercise locations.

• Provide expertise on the policy, plans, procedures, actions, and milestones necessary for efficient planning, development, execution, and evaluation of Combatant Command Joint training and exercises, in accordance with regulatory guidance.
• Support the analysis / improvement of USSOUTHCOM Joint Exercise program and the implementation of the joint training system to improve Joint readiness.
• Work as a member of a Joint Training Team and analyze / support the policy, plans, procedure, actions, and milestones necessary for efficient conduct of joint training and exercises.
• Support the Commander in the establishment, revision and execution of a comprehensive, organization-wide Joint Exercise program and working on various projects that involve aspects of joint training and exercises, to include Senior Leader Seminars.
• Have familiarity with the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) as the repository of Joint Training and Exercise data and update as required.
• Support USSOUTHCOM headquarters and C / JTFs in developing and identifying training objectives for each of the METL tasks for designated exercises or training events.
• Assist designated JTFs in formulating their own joint training and exercise plans.
• Provide technical support to assist in the design, coordination, and publication of supporting readiness products.
• Coordinate resources in support of workshops, training and exercise activities and support, through exercise planning / execution.
• Provide monthly progress reports which detail progress and / or issues.
• Serve as action officer for all USSOUTHCOM training and exercise matters to include : rewriting and updating USSOUTHCOM Instructions, writing information / decision papers regarding USSOUTHCOM training and exercise matters, briefing and conducting in-progress reviews as required.

What We Are Looking For

10 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 8 years relevant experience with Masters in related field;

or High School Diploma or equivalent and 14 years relevant experience.

• Applicant must possess operational experience, working knowledge of joint operation staff functions, and be familiar with Joint training and exercise planning, wargaming, Service capabilities, and joint operations.
• Joint exercise planning experience and first-hand knowledge / experience with JTF operations / missions and doctrine are required.
• Applicant must have experience assigned to or working at the CCMD headquarters level, and experience in DoD / JTF training, exercises, and wargames.
• Must have the ability to work independently in formulating detailed, long-range joint training plans, develop information and decision papers, and brief senior leaders in areas of subject matter expertise.
• Familiarity with the Joint Training System, Universal Joint Task List, Joint Missions Essential Task Development, Defense Readiness Reporting System, Joint Event Life Cycle (JELC), and the Joint Training Information Management System (JTIMS) is a must.
• Clearance : Must possess and maintain a TS with SCI eligibility.

• Experience with USSOUTHCOM Joint Exercises is a plus.
• Possess basic knowledge of exercise funding programs, desired.
• Understanding of / experience in a joint service environment is desired.
• Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
