Exhibit Designer - Museum designs and constructs museum collections, exhibits, and special projects. Researches ideas and materials for an exhibit, recommends solutions for design problems, and utilizes design techniques to produce desired visual effect and educational message. Being an Exhibit Designer - Museum may require a master's degree. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The part-time Exhibition & Collections Installer provides assistance for installations in both temporary exhibitions and collection galleries, as well as gallery upkeep. The position reports to the Senior Director, Innovative Projects & Design, and receives training and on-site assignments from the Exhibition Preparator. The Installer also works under advisement of the Registrar and Curatorial teams.
This is a part-time position requiring 2 days onsite, totaling 15 hours per week.
Reporting to: Senior Director, Innovative Projects & Design
Salary: $30 per hour; eligible for sick time in accordance with the New Jersey’s Earned Sick Leave.
