The Role: Visual Display Merchandiser

Please do not apply for this position if you do not meet the qualifications below. We are looking for a skilled visual merchandiser with the talent to build visual displays independently.

Our ideal candidate is self-driven, ambitious, hard-working with previous merchandising and/or display experience. This position could be part time or full time depending on experience and amount of responsibility the candidate is willing to take on. Pay will be dependent on experience.

 Responsibilities:

• Create and Maintain product displays on gift walls, tables and endcaps without support of planograms and direction
• Prioritize product displays based on sales performance and seasons
• Enforce company standards and image
• Create and/or Execute seasonal visual displays and window displays
• Modifying permanent product planograms (adding new items or resetting planograms as needed without a planogram and without direction)

Summary of Experience 

•  Applicants should familiarize themselves with our store layout as well as types of products and services we provide. We recommend exploring the store, website and our social media prior to your interview. Previous experience in a pet related field is a bonus.
• This is a position that includes physical tasks as well as helping guests. You must have an outgoing personality and be comfortable initiating conversations with customers.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a merchandiser (with gifts, home decor, and/or clothing) is required to apply for this position. If you do not have similar merchandiser experience you will not be contacted for an interview
• Exceptional organizational skills
• Great written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of space, balance and color in regards to visual merchandising
• High attention to detail
• Bring any photos of merchandise or decor you've merchandised in previous positions.
• Ability to multitask between customers and projects
• Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
• Available to work flexible hours that may include mornings, early evenings, weekends, and holidays

You will be asked to demonstrate your merchandising skills by discussing your ideas if selected to interview. We highly recommend walking our store after you apply or prior to an interview. A portfolio would be appreciated but is not required. We will need a list of at least one professional reference that we can contact to ask about previous merchandising experience.
