Exploration Station is looking for a part time assistant preschool teacher. Our facility hours are 7:30-5:30. Must have flexible availability while facility is open but will mainly be working afternoons Mon-Fri.

Essential Duties

• Assist teachers in implementing curriculum and other activities daily.
• Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc) to teach children.
• Assist in supervision of children.
• Learn and implement policies and procedure of school and state guidelines.
• Uphold predictable and reliable attendance.
• Maintain a clean and tidy classroom consistent with health and safety standards.
• Show flexibility in job responsibilities when and where needed.
• Participate in professional growth activities, staff training and meetings.
• Support a welcoming classroom environment by modeling respectful behavior towards all children, parents and peers

Qualifications

Must be "teacher-qualified" with the Oregon Office of Childcare

• High School diploma (equivalent GED) required.
• Currently in the Oregon Registry.
• Complies with all state education and licensing standards, and maintains validation of credentials for the position.
• Previous experience in a licensed preschool or early development center.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
