Extrusion Operator sets up and operates an extrusion machine in accordance with established procedures, guidelines, and customer requirements. Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position, and secure machinery. Being an Extrusion Operator adjusts and cleans machines. Documents work performed as required. Additionally, Extrusion Operator may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. The Extrusion Operator possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. What Will Be Your Environment :
Strategically located in the heart of Southern California’s medical device industry, the 53,000 square-foot facility is equipped with test laboratories for device testing and benchmarking, prototyping and development, and clean rooms for volume production with around 120 employees.
What You'll Do :
As an Extrusion Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out the production of medical grade extruded tubing. The primary responsibility of the Extrusion Technician is to manufacture tubing to customer given specifications, which will differ from customer to customer.
The Extrusion Technician uses lean tools for process improvement ideas, 5S, Value streams, Kanban, and 3P for ergonomic workstation improvement, continuous flow and single piece flow to reduce scrap and meet task and cycle times.
You'll collaborate with a diverse group of passionate individuals to deliver sustainable solutions to advance mobility, improve wellbeing and enhance modern life.
