Facilities Director manages the maintenance, construction, repair, and refurbishment operations of one or more facilities or properties. Implements policies and procedures that ensure the optimal functioning of buildings, grounds, and associated equipment. Being a Facilities Director monitors daily building operations of all systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management to ensure reliability. Tracks work orders for quality, adherence to service standards, and budgeted guidelines. Additionally, Facilities Director directs training of managers, supervisors, and employees in best practices for maintenance work, service and safety standards, and local laws and regulations. Oversees vendors or contractors engaged for construction projects. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Facilities Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Facilities Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Key Responsibilities:

    • Develop and implement strategic plans and initiatives to optimize facility operations and enhance member experience.
    • Oversee the day-to-day operations of all facilities, including maintenance, repairs, and cleanliness.
    • Manage capital improvement projects from conception to completion, ensuring quality, cost-effectiveness, and timeliness.
    • Lead and mentor a team of facility managers, maintenance staff, and contractors to uphold standards of excellence.
    • Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and service providers to support facility operations.
    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and industry standards, conducting regular inspections and audits.
    • Collaborate with department heads and senior management to identify facility-related needs and priorities.
    • Develop and manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reports related to facility operations and capital projects.
    • Stay informed about emerging trends, technologies, and best practices in facility management and implement improvements as needed.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Facilities Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in facility management, preferably in a multi-site environment.
    • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with staff, members, and stakeholders.
    • Knowledge of building systems, equipment, maintenance practices, and safety regulations.
    • Proficiency in budgeting, financial analysis, and project management.
    • Familiarity with facility management software and technology.
    • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
