Facilities Engineer plans and implements the design of plants, offices, and production lines in order to maximize the use of available space and improve production efficiency. Estimates costs related to layout design, including equipment and materials, labor, etc. and monitors the construction process. Being a Facilities Engineer researches production/processing equipment or fixtures for purchase and gathers data relating to their ability to meet organizational needs. Ensures that established efficiency and safety targets are met. Additionally, Facilities Engineer typically requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Facilities Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Work is closely managed.   • I. Summary of Position

    The first level in Airport series is responsible for the upkeep of terminals, hangars and airport grounds. Responsibilities include guiding, towing and organizing aircraft arriving and departing from the Airport, fueling of the aircrafts, maintaining terminal, hangar and airport grounds. This position may also be responsible for snow removal, mowing, carpentry, painting and other tasks to maintain airport facilities.


    This is a part-time position which may include working nights, weekends and holidays.


    II. Duties and Responsibilities

    A. Core Duties and Responsibilities - The following duties are the primary in this position, but do not compose an exclusive or all-encompassing list of duties. Other duties may be assigned or required to accomplish the main goals of this position.

    • Guiding, towing, parking, greeting and organizing aircraft arriving or departing
    • Coordinating ramp operations and aircraft movement via radio and/or aviation hand signals
    • Fueling aircraft
    • Operating ground support equipment (fuel pumps, fuel trucks, tractor, etc.)
    • Administering fuel and other sales
    • Manage wildlife on and around airport grounds

    B. Additional Duties and Responsibilities - The following tasks are necessary for operations of the utility, but may be shared with or performed by other staff members. The listed duties do not compose an exclusive or all-encompassing list of additional duties. Other duties may be assigned or required to accomplish the main goals of this position.

    • Following established opening and closing routines
    • General cleaning (floors, trash, windows, carpets, hanger and shop tidiness, etc.)
    • Answer phones and communicate with callers in a friendly, efficient and timely manor
    • Other duties which may be assigned

    III. Qualifications - The ability to perform the Core Duties and Additional Duties listed above and:

    A. Education/Training/Certifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent, Valid Driver's License

    C. Physical Abilities

    • Ability to move airplanes and fuel hoses on a regular basis
    • Ability to coordinate eyes, hands, feet and limbs in performing movements requiring constant use of physical strength and stamina.
    • Ability to sustain prolonged visual and mental concentration. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear.
    • The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 75 pounds.
    • Ability to wear common protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, glasses, gloves, hearing protection and / or hard hats.
