Oversees staff installing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining building systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, safety, and waste management. Being a FACILITIES SUPERVISOR tracks work orders and ensures work follows established service and quality standards for completion. Schedules and supervises preventative maintenance, painting, or carpentry projects. Additionally, FACILITIES SUPERVISOR maintains a safe and effective working environment that complies with regulations and laws. May coordinate work to be completed by contractors and skilled trades. Typically requires an associate degree. Typically reports to a manager. The FACILITIES SUPERVISOR supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. The role of the Facilities Supervisor is to ensure Azenta buildings and equipment are maintained and operating under safe conditions following regulations at multiple locations including Waltham, MA and Burlington, MA sites currently in operation along with a new facility in Billerica that opened in December 2023. They will coordinate external resources where needed to maintain mechanical, electrical, and plumbing equipment in good working order. They will assist in the design and development of organizational policies relevant to the facilities department. Provides input related to coordination of building space allocation and layout, communication services and facilities expansion.
