The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Hammond Nursing Home is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to be responsible for the overall maintenance of the facility and all areas related to the day-to-day maintenance operations of the community. Requirements
- High school diploma
- Valid driver’s license
- Available to respond to after-hours calls as needed
- Must maintain a professional and courteous manner with residents, visitors and fellow employees
Job Duties
- Responsible for maintenance of the facility including various electrical, plumbing, painting duties
- Repair structures such as showers, sinks, appliances, doors, cabinets, walls, etc.
- Ensure rooms are move-in ready for new admits
- Have a working knowledge of HVAC systems and have the ability to maintain and repair the systems
- Maintain a maintenance log
- Adhere to safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
