Facility Maintenance Technician jobs in Longview, TX
The Facility Maintenance Technician maintains, troubleshoots and repairs facilities mechanical components and electrical systems in accordance with SOPs (standard operating procedures), internal requirements, manufacturer's specifications and safety policies. Performs skilled maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, HVAC, and other physical structures. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician recommends purchase of maintenance tools, equipment and supplies as required. Develops, maintains and secures a spare parts inventory of basic maintenance hand and power tools. In addition, Facility Maintenance Technician assists engineers in developing methods and procedures to improve facility efficiency and work flow. Oversee and review the work of lower-level technicians. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to supervior or manager. Being a Facility Maintenance Technician works under moderate supervision. Gains or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Working as a Facility Maintenance Technician typically requires 1-3 years of related experience, or may need 0 years of experience with additional specialized training and/or certification. Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on building systems, including but not limited to plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Test system competency and component devices to identify and address potential issues before they escalate.
- Evaluate the performance of building systems and related components, making recommendations for improvements and efficiency.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal functionality.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including inspections, repairs, and replacements.
- Collaborate with other team members to coordinate maintenance efforts and ensure a cohesive approach to facility management.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical or trade school certification is a plus.
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance, with expertise in plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and control systems.
- Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve complex maintenance issues.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and regulations related to building maintenance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility to respond to maintenance emergencies outside of regular working hours.
