Located in Quonset Point, North Kingstown, RIFF is seeking an Operations Supervisor, working shoreside on-site at our Quonset Point, North Kingstown, RI headquarters. This is a full-time, year-round role supporting our ferry operations, sightseeing cruises, and the commercial division of RIFF operating in the offshore wind industry, Atlantic Wind Transfers.

Job Description: The Operations Supervisor reports to the Operations Manager and forms a critical part of the Shoreside Management Team, assisting in overseeing the safe and efficient operation of our businesses. We look to hire team players that like to work hard, have fun at work and treat customers to an extremely high level of service. The role of an Operations Supervisor is wide ranging, encompassing a variety of customer service, operational, management and support tasks.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Able to work a flexible schedule to support coverage of vessel operations.
• Work successfully alongside, leading our team daily, on major summer holidays and weekends to efficiently operate our services and troubleshoot any guest challenges.
• Assist Operations Manager in ensuring the successful operation of all company vessels and services.
• Oversee Shoreside Staff - Assistant Managers, Ticket Agents/Customer Service Representatives, and Parking Lot Attendants. Be prepared to troubleshoot problems, train staff, and enforce company policies.
• Provide performance feedback, training, coaching, developing and support recruiting efforts.
• Resolve guest issues when escalated. Investigate and resolve conflicts and complaints in a timely and professional manner.
• Successful proper cash handling, maintenance of sales and accounting documents required for closeouts.
• Be extremely tech-literate and develop comprehensive knowledge of company computer systems. Serve as an admin of all company ticketing, timeclock, communication, and vessel operations management systems.
• Serve as Group Sales Manager - management of all group bookings from sale to sailing.
• Coordinate with vessel crews to ensure boarding of vessels is completed in a safe, timely manner.
• Work with a safe mindset – ensure that crew and staff follow all safety policies, guidelines, and best practices. Take overall responsibility and accountability for the prevention of work-related injuries by communicating risks and hazards on the job.
• Be an energetic, outgoing, positive role model for your staff and coworkers.
• Ensure that all company policies are followed in accordance with policy documents and Internal Management System.
• Completes other duties as assigned.

Qualifications: Applicants must be self-motivated, high-energy, have an extremely positive attitude and great communication skills.

• Minimum of three years supervisory experience working in a service-oriented environment.
• College degree preferred, may consider experience in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of two years work experience using Point of Sale systems.
• Strong leadership, customer service, organizational, analytical and planning skills.
• Strong multi-tasking and troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced work environment.
• Strong interpersonal and communication (written, oral & listening) skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs; ability to act as admin in host of business and operational management computer systems.
• This position requires open, flexible availability to include a schedule not limited to days, afternoons, evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Walk, stand, sit and work in all types of weather for extended periods.
