The City of Mill Creek is a growing, dynamic city of 21,000 people. Situated in Snohomish County, Mill Creek is poised to set out its goals for the next 20 years in its Comprehensive Plan. The City is seeking a Planning Manager to help create the vision for the future of the City, including walkable neighborhoods, parks, public spaces, natural spaces, environmental stewardship and possible annexations. This position will manage the new 20-year Comprehensive Plan with direction from the City Council, Planning Commission, and Community.
The Planning Manager leads and manages the Development Services Division. The responsibilities of the Division include long-range and current planning, building permitting and inspections, and zoning and building code enforcement. The City is seeking an individual with experience in a wide range of municipal planning tasks, with a demonstrated ability to work independently while also coordinating with other members of the City’s Public Works and Development Services Department. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Experience and Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in urban planning or a related field, and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a public planning position, including some supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the applicant with the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job.
