Field Auditor, Sr. travels to assigned vendor sites in order to audit inventory levels and policy compliance. Reviews store security and cash handling procedures and loss prevention data to ensure compliance to policy and identify any issues. Being a Field Auditor, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree.   • Under the direction of the Sr. Director of Internal Audit, the incumbent will conduct reviews (financial, operational, and compliance) and engage in creating process efficiencies through the successful execution of engagements. Assist in risk assessments, develop audit objectives and procedures to address risks, execute the audit program, and document procedures and results to support conclusions. Engage in various special projects focused on data manipulation and analysis supporting all areas of the organization. Develop practical recommendations to address opportunities and control deficiencies, prepare reports for senior management that communicate the results and recommendations, and provide advice and counsel to management regarding areas of expertise. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (and other duties as assigned)

    1. Develop risk-based audit objectives, audit programs, and time and expense budgets for each audit.
    2. Efficiently complete reviews and special projects to effectively assess key business risks to the organization.  Evaluate financial and operational controls for efficiency and effectiveness.  Manage expectations of the stakeholders. 
    3. Engage company management to develop and implement action plans to address any identified issues. Report findings and recommendations to management through presentations and written reports. 
    4. Understand business processes, applicable industry standards or requirements, and emerging trends for various reporting and audit activities.
    5. Provide advice and counsel to management and recommend additions or changes to financial or operational controls, policies, procedures, and systems as appropriate.
    6. Engage in special projects identifying areas of inefficiency and support the process automation utilizing systems / tools. Familiar with mining, cleansing, aggregation, and analyzing data identifying new insights. 
    7. Interpret and analyze complex financial and accounting concepts.
    8. Collaborate with various groups to understand data structures and how to leverage information in the creation of Key Performance Indicators continuously monitoring process performance / compliance
    9. Handle multiple engagements and projects simultaneously, including special projects at the request of management and the Audit Committee
    10. Coordinate with External Auditors and support execution of the annual financial statement audit.

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

    1. Strong knowledge, understanding, and sensitivity to the Inupiat Culture.
    2. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, information technology, or business administration; MBA preferred. 
    3. Three to five years of financial analysis or auditing experience. 
    4. Possess or be pursuing a professional certification (preferably CPA and CIA). 
    5. Must be flexible with scheduling and able to travel domestically 10-20%.
    6. Ability to communicate effectively (both orally and in writing) with a wide range of stakeholders. 
    7. Excellent computer skills and solid analytical abilities.  Ability to understand and work with various software packages and computer systems.
    8. Must possess personal integrity, curiosity, collaborative approach, and solutions orientation.

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively communicate information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

    Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

    REASONING ABILITY

    Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
